One-Stop-Shop Solution
Whether your need is for us to fabricate designed steel or to design and build a complete building, idec has a distinct advantage in being able to easily coordinate and produce an excellent product utilising our broad in-house capability.

Engineering design
idec utilises its in-house engineering to find the most cost effective solutions to a wide range of building and infrastructural needs. From warehouses, factories and sporting covers to complex sound proofing structures for quarry crushers, idec engineers are able to provide best solutions to meet your particular need. Liaising with our fabricators and erection personnel, we design steel that is efficient to fabricate as well as to erect. Design using tapered columns and rafters is not only visually appealing but also reduces the amount of steel required for a building structure. Where the building is high or very wide, our engineers may incorporate this system into the design, resulting in a significant cost and resource saving.

Workshop Detailing
Our team of draftspersons specialises in producing workshop detail drawings for all types of steelwork. Using advanced 3D modelling, an intelligent building information model (BIM) is drawn from which a variety of lists and drawings can be created for both fabrication and erection.

Fabrication
Our workshop has capacity for a large variety of steel fabrication requirements.  For built up plate members our automated beam line welder produces consistent and high quality welded sections.  With qualified staff and strong emphasis on QA and safety, the finished products meet the most stringent requirements. In addition to the above we offer the hot zinc or aluminium metal spray process that is widely used in Europe, especially for marine purposes.  This system offers ultra long-term protection. With in excess of thirty highly trained personnel we are capable of a wide range of techniques and the coating of a variety of steel products.
