Engineering design
idec utilises its in-house engineering to find the most cost effective solutions to a wide range of building and infrastructural needs. From warehouses, factories and sporting covers to complex sound proofing structures for quarry crushers, idec engineers are able to provide best solutions to meet your particular need. Liaising with our fabricators and erection personnel, we design steel that is efficient to fabricate as well as to erect. Design using tapered columns and rafters is not only visually appealing but also reduces the amount of steel required for a building structure. Where the building is high or very wide, our engineers may incorporate this system into the design, resulting in a significant cost and resource saving.
Fabrication
Our workshop has capacity for a large variety of steel fabrication requirements. For built up plate members our automated beam line welder produces consistent and high quality welded sections.
