Current Projects

Wesley Hospital
Idec is currently underway with two projects for Hornibrook Baulderstone at the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane. The first project involves the fabrication and installation of the structural steel and architectural metalwork for the roof and screen panels on the newly extended multi-level car park.  The second project is the structural steel for the new East Wing.  This covers nine floors and roofs on various levels.

New Caledonia
Five custom engineered buildings for use at a mine in New Caledonia are being designed and fabricated for ATCO Structures who are supplying the accommodation modules.  A large mess and sports pavilion together with a specialist laundry, maintenance shed and locker room will be shipped in kit form.

Forge Business Park
Idec is undertaking the complete Forge Business Park project for Turrisi Properties. It contains 27 modern office/ warehouse units ranging in size from 70m2 to 220m2 with a number of varying designs for flexible accommodation options.
This industrial development consists of quality pre-cast concrete and Colorbond construction with high bay options from 5m to 7m. Located in Sumner, the property has easy access to the Centenary Highway and Ipswich Motorway.

Fertilizer Bulk Store
This has been an interesting and challenging project for Woolams in Mackay. It is challenging both from a design perspective both in terms of the loadings and the corrosive nature of the fertilizer.

James Cook University
idec has recently started site work on two jobs at the James Cook University Campus in Townsville. The first project is to supply and erect the structural steel for A. Gabrielli Constructions for the new JCU Sports and Recreation Buildings.

The second project idec has started working on at the same campus is the new Pharmacy and Medical buildings for ABIGroup Contrators Pty. Ltd. idec is supplying and erecting all the structural steel at this site. The new three-building complex is due for completion in late 2008 and will be a great showpiece for JCU, ABIGroup and idec.
